In Vladivostok, the mayor’s office presented to citizens the concept of beautifying public gardens in the area of housing 96 and 98 Nekrasovskaya Street. In fact, this is a transit area near the entrance to the Nekrasovsky interchange and is part of the guest route. open discussion Held on October 3 at School No. 56.

Unfortunately, there were few participants in the discussion – people actively voted, but there was no time to discuss how and what would happen.

The last time the square was tidied up was about 20 years ago. Everything here is now quite worn, both mentally and physically, the paving stones are worn out and the semi-circular benches and other elements of the layout need to be replaced. At the same time, city services maintain order in the green zone.

The designers discussed the main ideas for the renovation of the square. and. profound. Anastasia Lakida, Director of MKU “ZelenVlad”. She clarified that an online survey was conducted in June this year in which participants expressed their opinions on what functional content they would like to see. Most commonly, people point out that this should be a well-maintained transit area, as it is now, with walking trails and quiet recreation areas. There should be lots of greenery and definitely no large playgrounds, fitness classes, cafes or other attractions. Including because there are residential buildings nearby.

A few years ago, sculptures of deer were installed here – and then they caused a real sensation among children and citizens who took photos. Now that interest in them has waned and, moreover, these urban design elements are simply not relevant, they are dismantled and probably transported to less crowded places.

Should there be a fountain?

However, if technical conditions permit, architects and construction crews will restore a small fountain here. Frankly, this body of water is the subject of intense debate among a handful of participants. Some active residents insist that it will be destroyed anyway and will only spoil the landscape, and in general it is important to make a practical decision, others believe that the fountain will add beauty and comfort.

“If there is vandalism, why shouldn’t we do something beautiful in the city?” – ZelenVlad Representative raised his hands. She assured that, like all modern public gardens, CCTV cameras would be installed here – and they would help find hoodlums causing damage to city property. In general, the fountain is still only planned.

Elements that are sure to be present include new landscape pavers, a seating area with benches, and a pergola above a pergola—a lighted shade canopy under which you can hide from the sun on those hot summer days. The configuration of the walkways will change slightly and new flower beds and paths through them will appear. In addition, flower beds will be constructed using geoplastics – these will be small mounds of earth planted with local herbs and grains.

Of course, lights will be installed. Elements that can become a highlight are either glowing doves on a tree or paving slabs with decorative images of a marine theme. If the fountain does not work properly for technical reasons, a landscape composition using natural stone or other artwork may appear.

Of course, they will keep all the healthy trees and shrubs here — mountain ash, magnolias, etc. — and plant new ones, including almonds and maples.

Parking spaces will be reserved

A small car park on the boundary of the square will remain unchanged and continue to operate – it is not included in the parcel to be improved. A section of pavement along the road was also not included in the project, but at the meeting they promised it would not be ignored by the council’s road services department.

But the continuation of the park could be the area along the house No. 98 Nekrasovskaya Street – an area owned by residents. But its improvement requires the activity of residents to promote it to one of the federal or regional programs.

“Let me give you a good example: the Vladivostok government is currently completing the reconstruction of public areas in the areas of Zhigula Street 2, 4, and 6. At the same time, one of the residential houses in “You A grant was awarded under the Projects program to improve the site adjacent to the alley,” she said Anna Djura, Minister of Urban Environment at City Hall. “The project has been implemented with the installation of beautiful benches and small architectural forms – which has proven to be a very harmonious combination.”

The topic of pigeons has also become a very hot topic. Many parks and squares apparently suffer from thousands of these birds, which are fed by residents. As a result, the pigeon population grew unreasonably. At the same time, the traces of their presence are unsightly, in addition, birds can spread certain types of infections.

“Post a sign saying ‘Don’t feed the pigeons!’ because many people don’t know there is another side to this humanism,” suggested one participant in the discussion.

Let us remind you that in addition to Nekrasovskaya Park, next year the public areas of Borisenko, 102 and Kutuzov Park in Russkaya will also be landscaped.

This year, under the national program “Housing and Urban Environment”, in addition to Zhigula Park, improvements are also being made to parks No. 26 in Kirova and Vatutina. 10 are being repaired.
