Vladimir Putin promised to end the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible

“I know that now is not the time for wars and we have talked regarding it, particularly during our telephone conversations,” the Indian prime minister said.

Modi added that “diplomacy, democracy and dialogue” are the necessary tools to resolve disputes.

“We must achieve peace in the future,” he said, and welcomed the possibility of “closely knowing” Putin’s position.

Modi also highlighted the development of relations with Moscow and its importance for both countries.

“I think these relationships are very important. We are friends who have been side by side for decades,” he stressed.

In this sense, he was convinced that “in the future relations will only improve and be strengthened”, which “will benefit everyone”.
