At an event this Wednesday, August 17, Vivo showed off a new midrange phone, the V25 Pro, and delivered a press release regarding the V25 that didn’t appear at the event.
The manufacturer’s idea is to improve the formula of the V23 to offer an attractive phone aimed at a young audience, but also vloggers and other selfie enthusiasts.
Vivo V25, the front camera highlighted
Equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, 8 to 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage, the V25 presents a relatively common spec sheet for this range. Its AMOLED screen measures 6.44 inches, offers 90 Hz refresh and supports HDR 10+. Note that Vivo has chosen to put the fingerprint sensor on the edge and not under the screen.
In terms of design, the back side takes up the glass with a Fluorite AG coating from v23 which allows the phone to “change color” depending on its UV exposure. This coating is available for blue and gold colors unlike the black finish which will not benefit from it.
The originality of the phone lies in its photo configuration. If we find on the rear side a main sensor of 64 MP with stabilization (OIS), an 8 MP wide angle and a 2 MP macro, the sensor on the front side receives special care.
Indeed, the selfie camera offers a 50 MP sensor with autofocus, assisted by numerous artificial intelligence algorithms in order to offer selfie fans the best possible rendering.
For other specs, the phone offers a 4,500mAh battery, 44W FlashCharge, and the international version will come with the Funtouch OS 12 overlay (still no OriginOS).
Vivo has not communicated a release date or price for this model.
A more muscular Pro version
The Vivo V25 Pro presented today embeds the Dimensity 1300 (more powerful) and will offer the same RAM and memory configurations as the V25. The screen on offer is a bit larger at 6.56 inches with curved edges and will feature 120Hz refresh.
The fingerprint sensor, meanwhile, leaves the edge of the phone to be housed under the AMOLED panel.
The photo configuration does not change at the rear, but the front sensor goes from 50 to 32 Mp while keeping the autofocus. At the same time, Vivo offers advanced software features like Super Night Video and Vlog Movie to record basic optimized videos for social media.
The phone has a 4,830 mAh battery and 66 W FlashCharge. It is available in two colors, blue and black, of which only blue offers the Fluorite AG coating.
Pre-orders are open and the first deliveries are scheduled for August 25. Regarding prices:
-
The 8/128 GB version is offered at around €445 (35,999 Indian rupees)
- The 12/256 GB version is offered at around €495 (39,999 Indian rupees)
