The 2024-2025 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) formally begins on Friday, October 11 with the inaugural party between Tiburones de la Guaira (current league champions) and the Navegantes del Magallanes. The match will be played at the Ciudad Universitaria Stadium (UCV), in Caracas, starting at 7:00 pm.

This game will be the only one of the date and is part of a strategy by the Venezuelan league to give more visibility to the first day of the season.

The rest of the teams will debut on Saturday, October 12. That day Tiburones and Navegantes will face each other again, but at the José Bernardo Pérez Stadium in Valencia, Carabobo state. This meeting was scheduled for October 16, but was modified.

For their part, Águilas del Zulia will face the Leones del Caracas at the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium, in Caracas. While Caribes de Anzoátegui and Tigres de Aragua will play at the José Pérez Colmenares Stadium, in Maracay, and Bravos de Margarita will visit Cardenales de Lara at the Antonio Herrera Gutiérrez Stadium, in Barquisimeto.

What are the ticket prices?

Each of the teams published the prices of tickets to their games. In the case of Leones del Caracas the prices range from 5 to 60 dollars. Below is the detailed list:

Changes in regulations and traffic of rookies: the news for this season of the LVBP

On Monday, October 8, the LVBP held a press conference in which it announced the details of this season and the news that will be there.

The president of the LVBP, Giuseppe Palmisano, announced several changes and new additions, among which the first rookie draft stands out. This event will be held through a raffle on December 10 at the Teresa Carreño Theater.

He also confirmed the renewal of licenses from the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for all teams that make up the league.

Likewise, he indicated that they are making innovations from a technological point of view with cameras that will allow a direct signal with television stations.

According to the LVBP, the clocks installed for this season in all stadiums are expected to be operational from day one.

Another novelty that will be present this season is an update in the LVBP regulations in which players are prohibited from performing the so-called “perreo.”

Regarding the high celebrations, called ‘perreos’, it was formally integrated into the Code of Ethics, a rule that was approved by the teams parallel to the code, with a cause for fine and suspension,” indicated the general manager of the LVBP, Amador Montes.

The president of the LVBP, Giuseppe Palmisano, also announced that they will hold the second edition of the Kids Series, although he did not offer a date for this event. While the 2024-2025 All-Star Game will be on December 8 at the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium and will be attended by the representation of the Dominican Republic.
