According to the research team’s paper, treatment with high-dose vitamin D injections in symptomatic patients with lumbar spinal stenosis who do not require surgery due to vitamin D deficiency in the blood improves the patient’s back pain and the patient’s quality of life. Supplementation of vitamin D improves back pain and quality of life for as short as 4 weeks to up to 26 weeks. Accordingly, measuring blood vitamin D concentration in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis and supplementing vitamin D in case of deficiency has been shown to improve treatment results. Professor Sangbong Ko said, “The results of this study are about vitamin D supplementation, a research topic that I am interested in so far, and I expect that it will serve as a good starting point for further extensive and large-scale research.” He added, “These research results can be used in clinical practice to treat representative spine “I hope it will be of great help in treating spinal stenosis, a degenerative lesion.”
