Vistex mourns the loss of Sanjay Shah, founder, CEO and chief architect of Vistex

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., March 20, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Vistex announced today the unexpected death of Sanjay Shah, founder, CEO and chief architect of Vistex. Sanjay Shah and Raju Datla, Chairman of Vistex, were seriously injured in a tragic accident that occurred at a company event on January 18, 2024. Vistex confirms that Sanjay Shah has passed away and Raju Datla is still in the hospital.

The company’s thoughts are with Sanjay’s family and all those who knew Sanjay professionally and personally, and extends its deepest condolences. Sanjay Shah was an outstanding leader whose presence shaped the working life of every employee and colleague at Vistex. Sanjay’s leadership qualities and presence were truly one of a kind and he will be sorely missed by all.

Information regarding Sanjay Shah

Sanjay Shah’s bootstrap story began following he left Mumbai, India, to attend Lehigh University’s business school, where he earned his MBA in 1989 at the age of 21. He held positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and General Motors before moving to Germany, where he worked for the software giant SAP.

After leaving SAP, he founded Vistex, which has expanded its operations globally over two and a half decades, expanding its portfolio across 15 industries. As a self-made entrepreneur, Shah had a deep-rooted desire to give back. As part of Vistex’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, Shah founded the Vistex Foundationwhich supports nonprofit organizations focused on health, education and basic needs, as well Vistex Endeavoran employee-run charity that promotes volunteerism within the company.

Because lifelong learning was close to Shah’s heart, he donated $5 million to Lehigh University to establish the Vistex Institute for Executive Learning and Research.
