FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl is threatening consequences because of the Taliban visit by the liberal ex-EU MP Andreas Mölzer and the former FPÖ National Council member Johannes Hübner. He said yesterday that he wanted to talk to the two following their return: “My answer is that I don’t rule anything out on the subject of exclusion.”
The FPÖ had nothing to do with the meeting, emphasized Kickl. “I think this visit to the Taliban is incredibly stupid. I don’t know how anyone might come up with such an idea,” said Kickl regarding Mölzer’s and Hübner’s trip to Afghanistan and their meeting with the “foreign minister” of the internationally unrecognized Taliban regime.
“The two gentlemen, Mölzer and Hübner, are not FPÖ politicians, but were FPÖ politicians,” said Kickl. Both “political pensioners” have neither significance nor influence in the FPÖ.
Nevertheless, as mentioned, Kickl wants to deal with the “retiree’s trip to Afghanistan”: With Hübner first, he hasn’t been in political retirement for that long. There is a “clouded relationship” with Mölzer anyway, noted Kickl.
