King Philippe and Queen Mathilde met Thursday with the teams of the Center for socio-professional integration Le Quinquet, located in Soignies, as part of their tour of Hainaut. For this ASBL, this was an opportunity to present the premises to the royal couple for the second time in 14 years, according to the director, Alain Laby.
“The social object of the non-profit association interested them. I also think that it is due to the fact that we offer various services and we reach different audiences. The Palace found that important”explains the communication manager of the Quinquet, Cerise Laby, regarding this visit planned following a request from the Palace.
“Our socio-professional integration center has several courses, one training around cleaning, another around snacks and carpentry, plumbing, painting and parks and gardens. Then, we have a service of social taxi, to accompany disadvantaged or retired people on various journeys. The third service is a center for expression and creativity in which we give courses for children, adolescents and adults.she completes to present the non-profit organization invested with a public in need. “Our trainees have different profiles. They come from the CPAS, they are contracts under article 60, or they are people who have been unemployed job seekers and sometimes for a very long time. They come here in particular from Forem”adds Ms. Laby.
This royal visit to Soignies followed a visit to the Carrières du Hainaut. At the end of this morning, the King and Queen went to meet the population of Louviéroise, in front of the Town Hall.
