Workers of the Complejo Siderúrgico de Guayana (Comsigua), in Puerto Ordaz, delivered a report to the supervisory board of the Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana (CVG), following their visit to the plant this Friday.
“This is a struggle of years and we were finally heard,” said Aberlardo Vallejo, instrumentalist of the company, who specified that in the letter they raised the salary situation, workplace harassment and violations of colleagues.
He calculated that there are more than 60 workers deactivated without justification, others due to a pandemic and the rest for “raising their voices and demanding their rights,” he denounced.
After delivering the document, they toured the entire plant with the new CVG directive, taking advantage of the moment to show them the conditions in which they worked.
“We denounce the conditions of the plants, internal mismanagement, lack of investment” and alleged acts of corruption, Vallejo said.
For its part, the new CVG leadership promised more visits to the company and urged the working class not to be afraid and denounce irregularities.
From this April 7, workers await official announcements within the industry.
