A Apple has just taken another very important step towards the arrival of what is most likely its most anticipated product since the first iPhone: the Vision Pro. As noted by MacRumorsthe Cupertino giant has already launched the App Store do visionOSallowing developers to publish their creations for the mixed reality (AR/VR) headset.

In addition to housing apps made exclusively for Vision Pro, Maçã’s new platform will also make apps made for iPhone and iPad available — which work on visionOS, but in 2D. Any app distributed to these devices, it is worth remembering, can run on the new device — unless its creator has decided, for some reason, to disable this interoperability.

This news coincides with the sending of the first Vision Pro test units to media outlets, who are already getting their hands on the headset. In this way, by activating the visionOS App Store, Apple will allow journalists to download the apps they want on their units during tests.

Still according to the MacRumors, the first reviews of the Vision Pro will be published at the end of January, which means that journalists will have around two weeks to test it. The device already has a variety of apps designed specifically for it, ranging from productivity software to entertainment apps, such as Max (formerly HBO Max) and the Disney+.

FCC approval

In addition to having its App Store duly launched, today was another milestone for Vision Pro: it was approved by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) — the “Anatel of the United States”.

With this, the Vision Pro has one less obstacle to reach stores, since this permission is mandatory for a product like this to be sold in the USA. As also remembered by MacRumorsApple has for months displayed a warning in promotional material for its headset warning consumers that the device had not yet been certified.

With its launch scheduled for February 2 ndthe Apple Vision Pro will cost from US$3.500 — only in the USA. The online pre-sale of the device, in turn, will begin this Friday (19/1).
