With the official launch of Vision Proa Apple also began to officially market the Developer Strapan accessory that focuses on developers and allows a direct connection between the headset and a Mac.

For sale by snacks US$300 — and only for developers registered with an American account —, the Developer Strap, according to Apple, will be useful for “accelerating the development of graphics-intensive applications and games”.

The accessory must be placed in place of the audio strap that already comes with the device and, according to Apple, offers a similar audio experience so that the tests carried out by developers are not compromised.

Apparently, this is the only way to connect the Apple Vision Pro to a computer. Although this connection is via USB-C cable, however, we still don’t know if it allows data transfer, for example.

According to MacRumorsthe Developer Strap should serve not only developers, but also support the device in specialized Apple repair centers.

An update to a company diagnostic tool even indicates the steps stores can take to enter diagnostic mode on a faulty Vision Pro to perform a restoration.

This step-by-step involves swapping the audio strap for the Developer Strap (obviously), holding down the Digital Crownconnect the battery during this process and wait regarding eight seconds until the Apple logo appears.

Conector “Lightning”

Apparently, there is yet another way to connect the Vision Pro with a cable to who knows what. This is a “large Lightning port” that is hidden below the pad that protects the body of the device.

Discovered by staff at iFixitwhich is already in its great work of dissecting the product, this port is even larger than the one present on the battery to connect the cable that connects it to the device.
