The five occupants of a car were spotted driving slowly on the E25 motorway near Visé and coming from Maastricht, which caught the attention of a motorway police patrol. However, when the police attempted to control the occupants, the driver accelerated to allow one of the passengers to throw a bag out of the car window. After being arrested a short distance later, all five occupants denied ownership of the bag, which was found to contain 150 grams of heroin. Despite this, the two Namur residents, two French nationals, and one illegal resident were all detained. During the process, they admitted to having gone to Maastricht to purchase and consume drugs. The five individuals were referred to the parquet floor of Liège on Sunday morning, and the magistrate on duty initiated an investigation into their case, with a request for an arrest warrant.
It was because they were driving too slowly on the E25 motorway near Visé and coming from Maastricht that the 5 occupants of a car attracted the attention of a motorway police patrol.
But when the police wanted to control the occupants of the car, the driver probably sped up just to give one of the passengers time to throw a bag out the car window.
Arrested a few hundred meters further, the five occupants all denied being the owner of the bag thrown and… found by the police. It should be noted that the said sachet contained 150 grams of heroin. Despite this, the five occupants of the car, two Namur residents, two French nationals and one illegal resident were deprived of their liberty. All of them, in the process, admitted to having gone to Maastricht to buy and especially to consume drugs there.
The five occupants were referred, Sunday morning, to the parquet floor of Liège. There, the magistrate on duty put their case under investigation, with a request for an arrest warrant.
This serves as a stark reminder of the dangers and consequences of drug use and trafficking. It is evident that this group of individuals have found themselves in a difficult situation and will now face the full force of the law. We hope this serves as a lesson to others who may be considering engaging in similar activities. Let us all work together to create a safer and drug-free society for everyone.
