Carnival is a period of the year that many Brazilians look forward to. The event represents an important cultural expression of the country and the virtual universe did not want to be left out. This year, the party will have a virtual representation at the metaverso.
The novelty is the result of a partnership between Decentraland and Upland. The millions of users of both platforms will be able to enjoy the best moments of the festivities in Salvador and Rio de Janeiro with parades and costumes in NFT, for example.
According to the organizers, the unprecedented program will have artistic attractions and the best moments of what happened in the streets of the revelry capitals. Moments from the Barra-Ondina circuit in the Bahian capital and from the parades at the Sapucaí Sambadrome will be shown.
In the Upland metaverse, for example, users can go to the representation of the city of Rio de Janeiro and enjoy the party in the virtual court of Estação Primeira de Mangueira, located at Rua Visconde de Niterói, 1072.
It is possible to purchase NFTs of costumes and ornaments with the colors of the green and pink samba school, which this year brings the parade with the theme “As Áfricas que a Bahia Sings”, in homage to the Afro-blocs of Bahia such as Araketu, Olodum and Ilê Aiyê.
On the Decentraland platform, carnival costumes and samba movements should stir up the days of personalized user avatars, who will also be able to know the history of all 20 titles of Estação Primeira de Mangueira in Sapucaí.
Finally, the Fissura block embraced the NFTs and the metaverse at Salvador’s carnival. On Saturday (18) the block will debut its project in partnership with Musigreen, a company that unites entertainment and sustainable causes through blockchain technology.
