Insurance companies are seeing an increase in claims related to accidents caused by the use of virtual reality headsets.

Virtual reality is fun, but a headset that cuts you off from the real environment and makes you do big moves is the perfect recipe for unfortunate accidents.

Virtual reality claims up 68% since 2016

As proof, the British insurance company Aviva has observed since 2016 a 68% increase in claims related to accidents caused by the use of virtual reality headsets: collisions with furniture, and especially destroyed televisions.
