“Virtual Education in Puebla: Face-to-Face Classes Suspended in 43 Municipalities Due to Popocatépetl Volcanic Activity”

Starting Monday, May 22, students of all educational levels in the metropolitan area of ​​Puebla, as well as in three more municipalities in the suburban area, will suspend face-to-face classes and they will resume teaching in virtual modality.

This was confirmed this Sunday followingnoon by the governor of Puebla, Sergio Salomón Céspedes Peregrina, through his Twitter account, where he explained that the municipalities of, Amozoc, San Andres and San Pedro Cholula are included in this new provision.

The above is the result of aas a preventive measure for respiratory diseases due to the increase in ash fall and the recent increase in the Popocatépetl volcanic alert traffic light to Amarillo Phase 2.

Minutes later, and through a video, The state president reported that this provision arose from a meeting he held with the state cabinet, in order to determine the actions that, from his government, will be taken in the next few hours.

“Regarding the volcanic activity of Popocatépetl, it is necessary to comment that we are still in a phase of alert, not alarm, for the moment it is not required to evacuate the population, but we must increase preventive measures,” accurate.
