However, after extensive review, the on-field decision was overturned. The pass was ruled incomplete and the Hurricanes escaped with a 38-34 victory.

Hokies wide receiver Stephen Gosnell expressed his frustrations over the overturned call on X after the loss.

The ACC released a statement after the game regarding the replay review process to overturn the touchdown call.

“During the review process of Virginia Tech’s final play at Miami, it was determined that the loose ball was touched by a Miami player while out of bounds, making it an incomplete pass and immediately ends the game,” the statement said. » said the statement.
