Hokies lead the Eagles 31-7 heading into the second half

The Virginia Tech football team completed the first half of its game once morest Boston College on the road, dominating the Eagles 31-7 as it heads into the second half at Alumni Stadium. This is the highest number of points scored in a first half on the road since the Hokies’ game at Georgia Tech in 2019.
Cornerback Dorian Strong exhibited his defensive prowess, securing two interceptions that effectively shut down the Boston College offense. The Hokies’ defense has held Boston College to a mere 43 passing yards, with safety Caleb Woodson (3) and cornerback Derrick Canteen (4) leading Virginia Tech in tackles.
Strong’s game-changing interceptions set up two of the Hokies’ scores. Kicker John Love capitalized on the opportunities with a 27-yard kick in the first quarter, following an impressive 18-yard catch by Da’Quan Felton on the same drive. Running back Bhayshal Tuten sealed the lead with a seven-yard touchdown, and the Hokies have maintained the lead since. Quarterback Kyron Drones continues to impress, connecting with Stephen Gosnell for a 22-yard touchdown following Virginia Tech recovered an onside kick by safety Jalen Jones.
Continuing their offensive dominance, Drones exhibited his versatility by establishing an unstoppable run game, eluding the Eagles’ defense for a remarkable 59-yard rush. He then connected with wide receiver Jaylin Lane for a five-yard pass, marking the fourth score of the game. Just before the end of the half, Drones completed an impressive 70-yard pass to Felton, allowing Tuten to secure the 24-point lead with a four-yard rushing touchdown.
The Hokies will begin the second half with possession.
