Fairway County (Virginia, USA) – A routine stop on a busy Virginia road almost ended in death for a patrol officer.

The officer was on the Fairfax County Parkway, a major thoroughfare in Virginia, around noon on May 1.
At the time of the incident, the police officer was standing next to a BMW 750 that he had pulled out of circulation for a routine check and had parked on the hard shoulder.
While the patrol officer was unsuspectingly talking to the driver of the BMW, something terrible happened in the opposite lane:

The driver of another BMW, this time a 3 Series, was speeding northbound and suddenly lost control of his car.
The black car then went off lane on a curve, crossed the median, spun, and spun straight toward traffic control on the other lane.

The policeman noticed the car at the last second and was just able to run to safety.
If he hadn’t reacted so quickly, he would definitely have been trapped between the BMW and the crash barrier and probably fatally injured.
Despite his quick action, the BMW caught him after crashing into the stopped car on the shoulder. Its driver was slightly injured and has since been released from the hospital, the Fairfax County police said on Facebook, where they are video of the incident shared.

The police car behind was also hit and damaged in the accident.
The BMW M3 was driven by a youth. He and his co-driver suffered minor injuries. “The youth was reported for reckless driving,” said a spokesman for the local police department. “We are relieved that this crash did not result in tragedy. The officer was nearly hit and killed.”
Police decided to share the fierce surveillance camera video as a deterrent: “Parents and guardians should use this video as an opportunity to talk to their teenage drivers about how their driving behavior can affect the lives of others.”
One wants to enlighten drivers in order to “curb the senseless loss of human life”. Because accidents of this kind can definitely be avoided.
