After having organized its cassoulet evening in March, the Vire-sur-Lot festival committee launched the summer celebrations on Saturday July 2 with its first gourmet and craft market. Thanks to more than 25 volunteers, the committee works in an atmosphere of friendship and pleasure to participate in bringing festive moments to life for the village. Several committee meetings have enabled a perfect organization to accommodate four gourmet caterers and around fifteen exhibitors, jewellery, wooden objects, glass painting and also a crepe maker, ice cream, cakes, cabécous, melons… as well as two winegrowers virois.
All the exhibitors were sheltered under marquees all around the square. Participants in the gourmet market were seated in the middle. Each participant had brought cutlery and glasses, the first arriving before 6 p.m., and at 7 p.m., 280 seats were not enough, nearly a hundred had to be added, ie between 350 and 400 people for this first. The caterers themselves did not expect such enthusiasm and had nothing more to offer at the end of the evening. The entertainment provided by the singer Eric Coudon was of very good quality.
We bet that the next gourmet market on August 20, with more tourists, will be even more important. The organization is already working there to welcome participants in the best possible conditions.
