After the eventful match against Lucknow Supergiants, Virat Kohli had a mass dialogue with his opponents. Kohli said that if you give, you should remember that you will get back and if you don’t, don’t stop giving. Kohli had clashed with the Lucknow players in the previous match. Lucknow batsmen were unable to chase down a relatively small score of 127 runs. Kohli was overjoyed as each of Lucknow’s players got out. However, the problems started in the 17th over of the match.

After the match, Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq had a handshake. After this, Kyle Meyers came close to Kohli who was walking and provoked him. Kohli was not ready to give up, even though the situation was thought to have calmed down when mentor Gautam Gambhir arrived to catch Meyers.
Later it was seen that Kohli and Gambhir were facing each other again in a manner reminiscent of the 2013 encounter. Lucknow skipper KL Rahul intervened but could not calm the scene. Naveen-ul-Haq has been fined 50 per cent of his match fee and Kohli and Gambhir 100 per cent for post-match misconduct.
After winning the toss and batting first, Bengaluru scored 126 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Bengaluru’s top scorer was skipper Faf du Plessis who scored 44 runs off 40 balls. Virat Kohli scored 31 runs in 30 balls. Naveen conceded 30 runs in 4 overs and took 3 wickets for Lucknow.
Lucknow could not put any pressure on Bengaluru at any point in the reply batting. Lucknow suffered a setback due to the absence of skipper KL Rahul who was injured while fielding. Lucknow managed to score 108 runs in 19.5 overs. Bengaluru won by 18 runs as Rahul batted last with an injury and was helpless.
Josh Hazelwood and Karan Sharma took two wickets each for Bengaluru. Glenn Maxwell bowled only 1 over and took a wicket conceding only 3 runs. With the win, Bengaluru moved to the fifth position in the points table. Lucknow, which was in the second position, fell to the third position.
