A video of a young man being stopped and beaten with a stick by staff on suspicion of trying to steal equipment has gone viral. The incident took place at a 7-Eleven store in California, USA. In the video, the thief is restrained by one employee and beaten with a stick by another employee.

In the video footage, the man, who covered his head and face with a blue t-shirt, is seen filling the box with the store’s products. The suspected thief started swearing at people and then threatened to shoot the workers, then when the suspected thief tried to get away from the employee of the establishment, another employee started hitting him with a stick. In the footage, the thief starts crying and pleads for him to stop beating him. He was later kicked out of the shop.
