A snowboarder from Graubünden shared a video on Instagram of a parking machine displaying an exorbitant amount. He would have parked his car from mid-July to the end of October in the parking lot of the Stenna Center in Flims (GR). In the end, a painful bill of 13,348 francs. “This is what happens when you park in the wrong place at the Flims Stenna Center for three months in a row,” the user said. The video has gone viral (more than 1.6 million views) and many people are wondering regarding the parking fees, which seem excessive.
Not an isolated case
According to the Stenna Center in Flims GR, it is simply impossible for three months’ parking to result in such a high amount. The Internet user’s version is therefore seriously called into doubt. “Previously, when an old ticket, several months old, was introduced into the distributors, they indicated a cumulative amount and therefore very high,” notes a spokesperson. But this option has been disabled. Curious, our colleagues from “20 minutesn”, accompanied by the groundskeeper, wanted to find out for sure. They tried the experiment with an old parking ticket that was lying around somewhere. And the amount indicated also exceeded 13,000 francs.
A plausible explanation
The hypothesis retained is that the Internet user also used a ticket abandoned a long time ago by someone else. “Employees of the center must take a parking ticket upon arrival in the morning, but in the evening they can leave the parking lot for free with their personal badge and must get rid of the old, unused parking ticket.” So it seems that the author of the video on Instagram used such a ticket.
Contacted, the snowboarder did not comment on his post on the social network.
