Vipers’ decision must be made by 3 p.m.: – An extremely demanding situation

This is what chairman Peter Gitmark tells NTB.

– The court closes at 3 p.m., so this is a conclusion I want well before that time, he says.

Gitmark announced on Sunday night that the club would go bankrupt, but on Monday morning a group of shareholders demanded to take over the club and continue operations.

– We, who have helped to finance further operations, now demand to be allowed to continue running the club, said Morten Jørgensen to NRK.

The initiators ask the boards of Vipers Tophandball and the club to resign from their posts.

– This may mean that the board makes its seats available, and that an extraordinary annual meeting is called, where a new board is elected, which then decides how the club will then possibly be run further, says Gitmark.

The 47-year-old says that it is he and the club board who will make the decision.

– So I then need acceptance from the board members for it to be appropriate, he says.

– Has gone above and beyond family and work

The current chairman has not made up his mind as to whether he will continue to be involved in the running of the club.

– That is something I am unable to answer at the moment. This has been an extremely demanding situation for as long as I have been chairman. The conditions have changed fundamentally since I was elected in mid-March and especially since mid-May onwards.

– I have spent an extremely large amount of time on Vipers, which has gone beyond family and work. It is also a human burden to deal with, so I have to come back to that, if there is a question that comes up.

Jørgensen is a former board member of Vipers and has been the club’s biggest contributor for the past eight years. “One has to look for a long time to find a mate for scandal,” he added TV 2 after Sunday’s shock announcement.

“If the club goes to the bankruptcy court with a demand for tender, then we will start by submitting a demand for a temporary injunction. Everyone would benefit from avoiding such a legal process.” Jørgensen also wrote to The friend of the fatherland.

Fake stakeholders

Originally, Vipers had set a deadline of Friday to bring in NOK 25 million to erase debts, as well as ensure this season and next season with healthy operations.

That deadline was postponed until Sunday night after Friday’s board meeting, where a new player gave the Vipers hope of reaching their goal. The actor promised NOK 14 million, but the offer turned out to be false.

That sent the club looking for new investors. This job could not be landed.
