The leader of the leftist Revolución Ciudadana party, Pedro Briones, was assassinated following being hit by a bullet in Ecuador. The news was released through Luisa González’s social networks.
The candidate assured that these bloody events are due to the fact that mafias had taken over the State of Ecuador, now occupied by the right-wing Guillermo Lasso.
‘Ecuador is experiencing its bloodiest period. We owe this to the total abandonment of an inept government and to a state taken over by the mafias,’ said Correista presidential candidate Luisa González, who pointed out that Briones fell ‘into the hands of violence.’
