Emergency services were called around 9 a.m. following a single-vehicle accident on Elmire Row.

On the spot, the first responders had to use the jaws of life to extricate the only occupant of the vehicle, a man in his thirties. The latter was taken to a hospital center, where he was declared dead, said Marythé Bolduc, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

The cause of this exit from the road remained mysterious at the end of the morning and no hypothesis was immediately put forward by the provincial police.

An investigator specializing in accident scene reconstruction went to the scene to try to understand what happened.
