“Violent storms and temperatures down 10 degrees” –

Weather change, an Atlantic disturbance breaks the heat as we enter the second half of August. Between Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 August “lots of rain and thunderstorms are expected with even the risk of hailstorms in many of our regions” while temperatures will drop “with values up to 10°C less than on the day of Ferragosto”, explain the experts at IlMeteo.it. The weekend will start off hot with peaks of 36-38 degrees in the Central South and on the two Islands, in the first part of Saturday, but then it will be the turn of “particularly violent thunderstorms” with “serious risk of large hail and cloudbursts”, explain the experts.

On Sunday the disturbance will come into its own especially in the Central North where the warm air masses and the Atlantic currents will collide: in particular “between Eastern Liguria and Upper Tuscany dangerous cloudbursts will be possible” with a simultaneous drop in temperatures.
