The Federal Police has issued a wanted notice, following a violent robbery at the Gare du Midi, last February.
On Wednesday February 15, 2023 around 4:30 a.m., two men committed a violent robbery at Brussels-Midi station. In the waiting area for international journeys at the station, an individual spoke to a couple. Meanwhile, his sidekick stole the man’s cell phone without him noticing. Passers-by alerted the couple to the theft and the man set off in pursuit of the suspects. The suspect who had distracted the victim gave a false trail of escape from his sidekick but the victim saw the thief moving away from the station and followed him. On Bara Street, the victim caught up with the suspect who threw an unknown liquid in his face, injuring his eyes. The individual who had distracted the couple joined the victim and the two suspects fled.
The 1st suspect measures approximately 1m75 and is of normal build. He has black hair and a beard. At the time of the events, he was wearing black pants, a black hooded jacket with a white inscription on the chest, white shoes and a cap. He was in possession of a black and white backpack. He spoke English with the victim.
The 2nd suspect measures approximately 1m95 and is of normal build. He has black hair and a beard. At the time, he was wearing dark jeans, a black quilted jacket and black sneakers. He was in possession of a crutch or a cane. He spoke in French with the victim and in another language with his partner.
Both men looked neglected.
