A protest pitting workers once morest law enforcement broke out at a pharmaceutical factory in China.
Protesters clashed with police during a demonstration in the central city of Chongqing on Saturday. According to several videos posted on social networks, hundreds of people mobilized in this factory manufacturing test kits for COVID-19.
We do not yet know the exact circumstances of this wave of protest. According to observers, it might be a reaction to the announcement of layoffs at the manufacturer, Zybio, or a problem concerning the payment of wages. Several thousand workers would be affected. Demonstrations that are harshly repressed in China are particularly rare.
We see in particular demonstrators throwing entire boxes containing tests on the police who recoil in the face of their determination.
