A brawl between at least 10 young people degenerated into a stabbing at Deinze station on Wednesday. A young person was injured, but was taken to hospital for treatment without his life threatening. This is what the Deinze-Zulte-Lievegem police report.
According to Commissioner Vincent Himpe, the fight started around 4:15 p.m. between around ten young people in the Mouterijdreef district. Initially, according to him, there was talk of a fight between around forty young people, but he declared that this was exaggerated. “It was indeed a fight between at least a dozen young people which continued at the police station,” he said.
In the tumult, a young man was stabbed. “At first it was said he would be dead, but that is not the case. He was taken to hospital for treatment and did not suffer any life-threatening injuries “.
Police quickly arrested two suspects. A third suspect was arrested around 7 p.m. According to Commissioner Himpe, minors and adults are involved. The case is now in the hands of the public prosecutor.
