Two teenagers were arrested in Saguenay on Tuesday following a violent altercation which took place near their high school.
Around thirty young people were gathered in the parking lot of a business in Chicoutimi-Nord, not far from the Charles-Gravel school where they study.
It was then that a fight took place between four teenagers aged 16 and 17.
Several punches were exchanged, one young person was even thrown to the ground under the gaze of the other teenagers gathered who filmed the scene without intervening.
It was a dispute between friends which, according to our information, turned out badly.
It was finally a witness who was passing on Boulevard Sainte-Geneviève who alerted the police.
“Two young people were arrested for assault. They were released with conditions,” said Saguenay Police Department spokesperson Luc Tardif.
“There are young people who would be their first offense. These are things that can be attenuating.”
A complaint has been filed and charges might be laid.
The Rives-du-Saguenay School Service Center intervened on Tuesday followingnoon, even if the events took place outside of school.
Management met with the young people and the parents of the young people involved.
“We have had excellent cooperation from parents. They obviously denounce these actions. The Code of Conduct will be applied,” indicated the communications coordinator, Louise Noël.
“We have teams of psychosocial workers who work with our clients to think regarding these situations and try to find ways to prevent it from happening once more or to react differently.”
