This Sunday morning, the center of Profondeville was bustling. The evening before, the facades of the houses of this peaceful Meuse entity were lit up with the blue of the police flashing lights.
According to our information, around 10 p.m., a lady driving on the Dinant road at high speed caused the discontent of three alcoholic individuals, including two shirtless, who were in the street at that time.
The situation quickly escalates. For an undetermined reason, a customer from a neighboring restaurant, Ratatouille, finds herself involved in the affair. While she was quietly smoking a cigarette, one of the three men attacked her with a punch. The latter, who lives on rue du Presbytère, then returned home to fetch what appears to be a pellet rifle. When he returned, he hit the unfortunate woman with the butt of the gun.
Alerted by the altercation in front of the establishment, several customers of the restaurant went out into the street. The tension rose once more, so much so that in a scuffle, a blunt object was brought out by one of the three individuals who had insulted a motorist a little earlier. A person suffers from a slight, non-serious cut to the bicep.
The resident of rue du Presbytère, accompanied by the two friends who had come to help him move, then returned to his house to take refuge there. The police were called to the scene. Thinking that events were going to take the turn of Fort Chabrol, a team from the special intervention unit of the Namur police was called in.
Once the house was surrounded, the three men, known to be troublemakers, eventually came out and were arrested.
The Namur public prosecutor’s office indicates that they will be heard by the investigating judge this Monday, while specifying that one of the protagonists was on an electronic bracelet at the time of the events.
