MORELIA, Mich., January 14, 2023.- The violence and insecurity that prevails in the Tierra Caliente of Michoacán last year reached five students from the Faculty of Medicine of the Michoacán University, who were doing their service and the university authorities determined take them out of health centers.

Víctor Hugo Mercado Gómez, director of the Ignacio Chávez School of Medicine, declared in a meeting with the media that the priority for that institution is the safety of young people.

“Our mission is to give security certainty to our interns; there are red lights; we had to remove five students, because there were social problems”, said the director.

He pointed out that the young people will not return to the Tepalcatepec health centers as a result of the insecurity problem, since solving it is the responsibility of the Government.
