Violence at Ukraine demonstration in Berlin: Man injures himself with knife

A violent incident occurred in Berlin on Saturday at a pro-Ukrainian rally to mark the country’s Independence Day. A Ukrainian citizen injured himself with a knife on the sidelines of the event at the Brandenburg Gate in the early evening, a police spokesman told the AFP news agency. According to the findings, he did not attack other people.

The man himself was not a participant in the rally to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day, the spokesman explained. Immediately after entering the square, he exposed his upper body and stabbed himself in the stomach. He was then “immediately” taken into custody by police and subsequently given medical treatment.
