Fear took hold again this weekend in Buenaventura by “guerra” that criminal gangs wage ‘The Jaliscos’ y ‘Rober’s band’ whose members walk the streets armed with rifles and threatening each other, as seen in the videos circulating on social networks.
Criminal gangs are fighting for control of the territory and illegal businesses in this area of the Pacific that has been hit for many years by the armed conflict.
One of the images shows one of the leaders of ‘Rober’s band, who launches threats, while all the armed members appear with their faces covered with balaclavas.
“We are with the community, that the ‘Jalisco’ band appears to give them lead”he says, referring to those who are part of the Mexican cartel ‘Jalisco New Generation’.
According to the threatening message, they want to “defend with blood and fire the community of the presence of the other criminal gang.
“Jalisco does not exist here, Jalisco is in Mexico (…) we are Buenaventura. No one who is not from here is going to enter our territory.” assure the other members show their weapons.

The Secretary of Government of Buenaventura, Arlington Agudelo, revealed that at least 190 families have left their neighborhoods, as is the case in the Progreso sector, due to the permanent armed confrontation by criminals.
