Violence against health professionals: Agnès Firmin Le Bodo specifies the organization of the consultation

Improving the working conditions of health professionals is one of the key objectives for 2023 of François Braun, Minister of Health and Prevention. 37% of hospital health professionals say they regularly suffer physical attacks. This figure rises to 84% for caregivers according to the MNH-Odoxa 2022 barometer. The National Observatory of Violence in the Health Environment (ONVS) identified 19,328 reports of attacks on persons or property in 2021 and 34,550 professionals victims of this violence.

On January 30, 2023, it commissioned Nathalie Nion, senior health manager of the APHP, and Doctor Jean-Christophe Masseron to be the guarantors of the proper conduct of this consultation (known as “qualified personalities”). It is essential to rely on health professionals as well as on all the stakeholders and actors involved in the safety of caregivers to think of effective measures that correspond to their expectations and their daily constraints. Particular attention will be paid in particular to the protection of caregivers working outside health establishments and to the support of victims.

The consultation will take place during the first half of the year 2023. It will be punctuated around several key sequences and will end in May. The first plenary meeting of the consultation will be held on February 16 at the ministry and will mark the start of the work.

The Minister will ensure that all health professionals, including representatives of health professional orders, professional unions, public and private establishments, regional health agencies, students, law enforcement, justice, security and fire safety professions, are properly involved in this reflection.
