Violation of secrecy: legal action begins due to the leak of a phone call to Héctor Llaitul | National

This Saturday, two legal actions were filed for violation of secrecy in the context of the leak of the phone call from an adviser to former minister Jeanette Vega to the leader of the Arauco-Malleco Coordinator (CAM), Héctor Llaitul.

This morning the Deputy Luis Neck (PC) filed a criminal complaint against those found responsible in which, in addition, he asked the Araucanía Prosecutor’s Office to collect the testimony of deputy Jorge Alessandri Vergara (UDI) “in order to facilitate the information available to you”.

Regarding his request regarding Alessandri, Cuello indicated that the trade unionist has said publicly that “he handles information regarding the leak and, therefore, handles records on the commission of a crime, which is the violation of secrecy.

“This is why we have also asked the regional prosecutor to request the testimony of deputy Alessandri so that he tells everything he knows about the facts that are part of this leak that has all the characteristics of a political operation of Rejection,” he launched.

“It seems very serious to us that a reserved report from the PDI has been leaked which contains the transcript of an intercepted telephone call”, the legislator started in a statement to the media.

The other legal action was filed after 1:00 p.m. this day by the lawyer Luis Mariano Rendón against the regional prosecutor of La Araucanía, Roberto Garrido, and all public officials who are responsible..

“Two full days have passed since these leaks of private conversations were made public which are absolutely irrelevant from the point of view of the ongoing investigation,” the lawyer said in a statement.

“I have waited for the government to file the corresponding complaint and at most I have heard President Boric formulate ‘requests’ through the media for an investigation,” he criticized.

As Rendón did not know of any parliamentarian who took action on the matter, which did not happen on the part of the national prosecutor either, “that is why I, a simple citizen, am forced to start the criminal process again so that these facts do not remain in impunity”, he assured.

“Although the facts that are the subject of the complaint affect the communications of a specific person, Mr. Llaitul, with whom I am not linked in any way and with whose public actions, for the rest, I do not feel any sympathy, they constitute at the same time a disastrous precedent of general scope”he whipped

The controversy caused by the leak produced the first casualty in the cabinet of President Boric and Llaitul is currently serving preventive detention in the Bío Bío Prison in Concepción.
