Violation of energy infrastructure, authorities issuing rules and regulations announcing fines

The Department of Energy announced the penalties for violating the rules and regulations of energy infrastructure.

The UAE Department of Energy has announced new rules and regulations to secure energy infrastructure and ensure the safety of users, including new penalties for violations.

In a statement issued by the department, 72 items have been identified as violations and will now be fined.

The new rules will apply to licensed entrepreneurs, service sectors, property dealers, home or shop owners and energy services companies, among others. Those who violate the rules will be fined from 2,000 dirhams to 1 crore dirhams.

A fine of one crore dirhams will be imposed for preventing, distorting, restricting competition in the energy sector or in any other way harming the interest of the consumer.

According to the new rules and regulations, a fine of 500,000 dirhams for receiving any amount other than the prescribed fee, 100,000 dirhams for violating the prescribed health, environment and safety rules, while the house and house prescribed by the Department of Energy will be fined. A fine of 50,000 dirhams will be imposed on the shop owner who does not meet the fitting, other standards.
