Friday July 5th Canada beat the Vinotinto in the penalty shootout in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Copa America. Now the Canadian team must face Argentina in the semi-finals. The match took place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (United States).
In the 13th minute, Jacob Shaffelburg scored the first goal for Canada and Salomón Rondón tied the game for Venezuela in the 64th minute. This result led to a penalty shootout, where the Canadian team emerged victorious.
The Venezuelans who were present at the stadium to support the team wore the team’s shirt, raised the country’s flags and held up signs in support of the players throughout the match.
