Vinod Kumar, accused in Verappuzha torture case, was killed and thrown into a well, 19feb2022

Mumbai: Vinod Kumar was found murdered in Maharashtra at Payyannur Cherupuzha Ramapurathozhuvan house in Payyannur, Kannur, who was accused in the Verappuzha molestation case. The body was found lying in a well in a tribal colony in Kashid village in Raigad. Police said Vinod was severely beaten before he was killed. Police arrested Gaurav Waghmare, 22, and a 14-year-old man from the village in connection with the murder.

Vinod Kumar was working at a resort in Raigad. Raigad police inspector Nitin Gavare said the dispute over alcohol led to the murder. The body was cremated and cremated in Raigad on Saturday with the permission of relatives.

Vinod Kumar is accused in the Verappuzha molestation case along with Sobha John in March 2011. The trial court had convicted Sobha John and former Army officer Jayarajan Nair. However, five people, including Vinod Kumar, were released due to lack of evidence.

There are 32 cases once morest Vinod in various places in Kerala. He did not go to Kerala but hid in Raigad.
