While Vinci announced an average increase of 2.7% in tolls in France on February 1, the company assures that it does not intend to change the rate of that of Saint-Isidore, on the A8 (currently set at 1.50 euros).

In any case, this is what the concessionaire will propose to the State, as required by procedure.

An announcement “complementary” to others “on daily journeys”, continues the press release. As “the blocking, on average, across all of its networks (ASF, Cofiroute and ESCOTA), toll rates for 80% of journeys of less than 30km and 60% of journeys of less than 50km, as well as the routes bypass of 35 urban areas, including Nice, Fréjus and Sisteron.”

A little earlier this Thursday, the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, had denounced to BFM Nice Côte d’Azur, the announced increase, and threatened the management of Vinci highway to go “the balance of power” if she did not change her mind regarding the Saint-Isidore toll.

“When we see the purchasing power situation, which the Vinci Autoroute company generated +64% this year, it is completely unacceptable,” said the mayor.
