As indicated in the draft decision, three administrative buildings, two hospitals, a crossing point, a dezokamer located in the Vilnius City Mental Health Center will be sold.
Politicians also gave permission for the mental health center to receive a loan of five million euros for the construction and installation of a new building for psychiatry, gerontopsychiatry and psychosocial rehabilitation.
“This year, the contract works for the institution’s project have been started and are being carried out. During the implementation of the project, a new 4,207.30 square meter hospital building is being built on the site of the old unusable building (garage-workshop), Viktorija Turauskytė, head of the Health Protection Department of the Vilnius municipality, said at the meeting.
The price of this project is 12 million. euros.
The Council’s decision states that the loan will be repaid from the proceeds from the sale of the buildings located at Vasaros Street 3, as well as from the mortgage of the buildings located at Vasaros Street 5.
The construction of the new building started at the end of February this year.
The construction contract was signed last December, according to which Naresta undertook to build the new three-story hospital building by the second quarter of 2024. The building will have 53 wards for patients. It is also planned that a laboratory for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders will appear in the new building.
