On the evening of February 9, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Vietnam Theater Artists Association presented 37 awards to outstanding authors, works and artists of 2022.

Specifically, 4 A prizes were awarded to the plays: Cai Luong “Land and Sea” (Hai Phong reform group); drama “Red Rain” (Army Repertory Theater); paddle “Land and Sea” (Traditional Art Theater of Thanh Hoa Province) and Bai Choi “Miss God” (Binh Dinh Province Traditional Art Theater).

Before that, the book “Red Rain” received a Gold Medal for the play along with 2 silver awards, 1 gold award for actors at the Capital Theater Festival, two plays “Land and sea” also won the Excellence Award at the National Cai Luong Festival and the National Rowing Festival 2022 huts “Miss God” also awarded many individual awards at the National Tuong and Drama Festival in 2022.

The organizers also awarded 4 awards to excellent individuals, including: Excellent Painter Award for Outstanding Artist Nguyen Dat Tang (Hanoi); Best Director Award for Outstanding Artist Trinh Mai Nguyen (Vietnam Drama Theater); Best Choreographer Award for artist Hoai Anh (Hanoi Cheo Theatre); Outstanding Composer Award for Outstanding Artist Tuan Hai (Vietnam Cheo Theatre).

Summarizing theatrical activities in 2022, playwright, Dr. Nguyen Dang Chuong, Vice President Theater Artists Association Vietnam, Chairman of the Arts Council assessed: In the past 20 years, there has never been a year when stage life has been bustling, busy, vibrant, urgent and serving a wide range of audiences as in 2022. .

Within 9 months, since the stage was allowed to operate again, there have been 8 theater art competitions and festivals, including 2 international competitions and 7 national-scale competitions. . Most of the art units inside and outside the public sector have works participating in the festival in many forms such as drama, tuong, cheo, cai luong, folk drama, circus and experimental stage.

“That proves the sense of responsibility of the units, the creative desire and dedication of the stage artists, who have overcome all difficulties to change the appearance of theatrical art, meet meet the audience’s enjoyment needs in the 4.0 technology era, in the development of many different media and entertainment art forms,” ​​said Mr. Nguyen Dang Chuong.

The artistic quality of many theatrical works has been improved, actively contributing to the development of the country’s literature and art, gradually meeting the audience’s enjoyment needs, fulfilling the mission of serving the political service of the Party and the State, improving the spiritual life of the people in the post-pandemic period,” affirmed Mr. Nguyen Dang Chuong.

Regarding the direction of activities this year, People’s Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, President of the Vietnam Association of Theater Artists, said that she will actively coordinate with agencies and units to organize many festival activities such as meetings and events. talent contests for actors in tuong and folk dramas, cheo, cai luong, plays, solos and ensembles of national ethnic musical instruments; in collaboration with the Union of Vietnamese Communities in Europe to organize a beautiful voice festival for the Vietnamese community in Europe.

The association will also coordinate to organize the second Khmer Southern Umbrella Theater Festival in Tra Vinh (expected in April); Children’s Theater Festival in June; National Magic Festival (expected to be held in October) in Ho Chi Minh City; Festival of excerpts or theater arts (tung, folk songs, cheo, cai luong, drama, puppetry, circus) in 2023, expected in Ha Nam, Da Nang, Bac Lieu provinces; Theater Arts Festival in Ho Chi Minh City.
