Vietnam strengthens COVID-19 prevention and control during Tet

Vietnam recorded 27 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, January 16, up slightly from Sunday and double the number of patients declared cured on the same day.

Since the start of the epidemic on January 15, 265,906,862 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been injected.

The total toll now stands at 11,524,647 cases of COVID-19. The country thus ranks 13e rank out of 230 countries and territories with this number, and at 117e ranking in terms of infection rate per 1,000,000 inhabitants.

On Monday January 16, 12 patients with COVID-19 were declared cured, bringing the number of recoveries to date to 10,612,117.

No deaths linked to this epidemic have been reported in the last 24 hours, leaving the number unchanged at 43,186 dead, or 0.4% of contaminations.

Since the start of the epidemic on January 15, 265,906,862 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been injected.

To strengthen the prevention and control of the epidemic during the Lunar New Year (Traditional Tet), promote socio-economic recovery and development, the Prime Minister, also head of the National Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID -19, requests the Ministry of Health to continue to regularly and closely monitor the epidemic situation in the country and around the world.
