That’s it, the 42nd edition of Jazz à Vienne is coming to an end tonight. But the nightlife is not going to stop in Vienna.

In addition to the concerts at the Ancient Theater until the end of the month, some of which are sold out, other groups will perform all over the city. Place François-Mitterrand, the terraces were enlarged and a stage was installed at the end of June. “The concerts attract people,” reports Virginia, a waitress at the Bar de l’Hôtel de Ville. It continues to animate the city. » The establishment is open 7 days a week from early morning until late at night.

Table-Ronde, the ideal neighborhood for going out

Another stage, at the corner of rue des Clercs and rue de la Table-Ronde, will host groups all summer long. It was installed at the instigation of the collective of bars and restaurants in the district, made up of the Bar de la table ronde and 9, as well as the restaurants Le Simone’s café and Chez nous. “We optimize the service these evenings,” says Miguel Pereira, manager of the Round Table Bar. He took over the establishment in the spring and reopened in May following renovations.

“This scene is a discovery factor, even for the Viennese, explains Nathalie Pereira, manager of the bar Le 9. For some there is a psychological barrier, they do not dare to go beyond the temple. The district has been undergoing a major revival in recent years and the customers are there. “We have two strengths: the location and the extensive offer”, insists Nathalie Pereira.

This shady pedestrian street is the ideal place to stroll in the summer. Especially since the town hall has installed garlands at the request of the collective of traders as well as flower pots. “I think we have the most beautiful terraces in the city,” says Nathalie Pereira. Under the vegetation, temperatures are much more bearable, especially during heat waves. And the district has a complete and complementary offer between the different establishments. “We have a kind of synergy between us,” insists the owner of 9. A little further down the street, at Place Aristide-Briand, Le Comptoir des terroirs regularly organizes concerts.

And vacations ? Abstinence

Located rue des Carmes, the Soulfood bar is managed by Antoine Curtaud and Laurence Grégoire. “There are still a few people in August, people are more relaxed,” reports the head of the establishment. They plan to stay open throughout the summer. “The first year, in 2019, we closed in August, explains Antoine Curtaud. People were telling us: “There is nothing open in the neighborhood anymore.” The following year, we didn’t take a summer vacation and the customers were there. »

Inside, they have a capacity of 27 seats, but in summer, it is especially the terrace that is popular. From June to the end of August, they have permission to extend it in front of the hairdressing shop located just next door. They thus go from a capacity of 27 to 45 people.

On the Cours Romestang, the La Loge bar usually closes for two weeks in August, but this year it will not be the case. Rue Voltaire, the Bacchus and pool also regularly offers concerts but will close for two weeks in August. Finally, to go out, there are also bars and restaurants on the Cours Brillier. In short, the party is far from over in Vienna.

Concerts on the Round Table stage

At the corner of rue de la Table-Ronde and rue des Clercs, concerts take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as Sunday lunchtimes until the end of July. Between gypsy jazz, Latin reggae, acoustic rock or even French pop, there is something for everyone. Concerts are also planned in August.
