Michael Ludwig: “Thanks also for social and cultural achievements”
Vienna (OTS/RK) – Vienna’s Mayor Dr. Michael Ludwig honored KR Mag. Robert Lasshofer in the Ringturm with the Grand Decoration of Honor in Silver for services to the state of Vienna.
“He was not born with a golden spoon,” says Ludwig. “His training and career were all the more consistent and successful. In 1983 he completed his studies in economics; In the same year he entered the service of the Central Savings Bank. He soon felt that he was really in his profession in the insurance industry, which he entered through Union Versicherung AG. In the 1990s, Lasshofer was a partner in AWD (Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftsberatung mbH.). He then rose to become a deputy board member of Donau Versicherung AG. He found his final home in the year just before the turn of the millennium: After moving to the board of directors of Wiener Städtische Allgemeine Versicherung AG, he was first appointed deputy general director and then general director and chairman of the board of Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein.”
“There,” says Ludwig, “he had such important fields as risk management, PR and human resources under his wing. And in these tasks he developed a strong connection to the social partners, but also to the churches. Lasshofer made a special contribution to the successful merger with S-Versicherung, with which he upgraded Wiener Städtische to become the largest life insurer in Austria.”
The mayor also paid tribute to Lasshofer’s cultural and social achievements: “The Wiener Städtische supports Viennese theaters such as the Volkstheater, but also the Bregenz Festival with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. And the Vienna Capitals also trust in the reliable sponsorship of the insurance group.”
“That Lasshofer is a great philanthropist, he proved, for example, together with Volkshilfe through social campaigns once morest child poverty – #MutSchaffen – or to support the care sector – “Nurse with heart”. A huge topic”, as Michael Ludwig emphasized.
Ludwig – as mayor, together with Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, patron of “Unser Stephansdom” – finally thanked Lasshofer for his passionate work as a board member of the association.
“I hope I continue to look forward to a good working relationship and a continuation of our good friendship! All the best and congratulations! Good luck!” the mayor concluded his speech.
KR dr Günter Geyer, President and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Wiener Städtische, emphasized the many years of good cooperation between the City of Vienna and the insurance group. Lasshofer drew a comparison with other megacities and concluded: “Vienna is better!”
The Atmos Quartet provided the musical framework for the celebration.
