“The ‘Open Town Hall’ on Women’s Day is the highlight of the first Vienna Women’s Week this year with more than 100 events from March 4th to 8th – entirely under the motto of our big Vienna women’s survey ‘Vienna, the way you want.’ I hope you were able to take advantage of the diverse program of the first Vienna Women’s Week and are already looking forward to the next edition in 2025,” said Vice Mayor and Women’s City Councilor Kathrin Gaál. And: “Women’s Day is important to draw attention to the fact that we stand up for equal opportunities, equality and equality every day,” said Gaál.

“More time. More space. More opportunities.”: Numerous measures from the Vienna women’s survey

A lot has happened since the women’s survey “Vienna, as she wants” was carried out in 2022: at the end of 2022, the 5th Vienna women’s shelter was opened and at the beginning of 2023 an existing women’s shelter was converted into a women’s shelter for girls and young women. The women’s health center “FEM Med” was opened at Reumannplatz and the “Red Box” was expanded to cover the whole of Vienna. The “Girls*zone” in Favoriten was opened and the “Girls celebrate technology” project started. Free workshops were also organized by waff and the Vienna Women’s Service (MA 57) on digitalization, work and sustainability for women, and waff scholarships are used to increase the proportion of women in technical professions. The Vienna Daughters’ Day has been expanded to include the KIDS Daughters’ Day and – brand new in 2024 – the MINI Daughters’ Day. This means that Daughters’ Day is now also aimed at elementary school students and girls of kindergarten age. Vienna Women’s Week is a measure from the Vienna Women’s Survey. Many other measures have already been implemented.
