At the “Vienna Security Festival” on Rathausplatz this year everything revolves around the topic of security.
Vienna (OTS/RK) – From October 25th to 26th, Vienna’s helpers are offering the largest safety performance show in Austria and an informative and exciting program for the whole family. The Viennese aid and emergency organizations, departments of the City of Vienna and numerous friendly institutions are taking part.
Entertaining program with spectacular performances by “Blaulicht & Co”
A colorful supporting program guarantees an excellent atmosphere. During spectacular demonstrations on the national holiday, October 26th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors will gain insights into the often dangerous work of the emergency organizations. At the same time, they learn how to behave correctly in emergencies.
“At the Vienna Security Festival, the emergency organizations, departments of the City of Vienna and friendly institutions that do their best every day to ensure security in Vienna present themselves. As Mayor of Vienna, I am proud of this security network. Investing in security is an investment in the future of our city for the well-being of all Viennese,” emphasizes the Viennese Mayor Dr. Michael Ludwig.
“The professional commitment of the Viennese aid and emergency organizations is invaluable for security in Vienna. As the fire department city councilor, I would like to thank the many employees for this,” said City Councilor KR Peter Hanke.
“The Vienna Security Festival offers visitors insights into the work of these organizations and a platform to familiarize themselves with security issues. Because if you are prepared, you can help yourself and others!” explains Hanke.
You can see state-of-the-art emergency vehicles, the “C9” emergency doctor helicopter and numerous interesting pieces of equipment at the town hall square. Police service dogs and rescue dogs show what missions they are trained for. On October 26th, the Vienna Police Music and the musical stars of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien will provide musical entertainment with excerpts from the musicals REBECCA and ELISABETH. Play stations and bouncy castles offer children a variety of activities. Of course, the culinary delights are not neglected either.
Vienna Schools Day on October 25, 2023
As part of the Vienna Security Festival, Vienna’s helpers are inviting you to the “Vienna Schools Security Day” on October 25, 2023.
On this day, the students can look forward to an exciting program on the topic of safety from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. In a playful way, they learn regarding the various areas of responsibility of the Viennese aid and emergency organizations as well as departments of the city of Vienna.
The students learn how to behave correctly in emergency situations and receive important information for everyday life. They also explore various emergency vehicles from the inside and get to know the equipment. Spectacular performances round off the program. Seeing, feeling, understanding – this is how children’s fears are taken away in an emergency.
“The Helpers of Vienna” – Be prepared. To be able to help!
Together with the emergency and partner organizations, “The Helpers of Vienna” provide advice and training on the correct behavior in everyday life, both small and large.
They give tips that make your own life, your personal environment, but also society safer. As a prevention facility of the City of Vienna, the goal is to…
Prepare Viennese people as best as possible for emergencies. The offer for young and old ranges from personal advice, free lectures, information events to the coordination of the “Voluntary for Vienna” platform.
The Vienna K-Circle
The “Vienna Security Festival” is supported by the 41 organizations of the Vienna K-Circle. The K-Kreis is a prevention network in the areas of safety, health, environment and social issues. The “K” stands for disaster relief, disaster protection, communication and competence.
In 2023, the K-Kreis has 41 members from emergency organizations, municipal companies, departments of the City of Vienna and “friendly” organizations and clubs. Vienna’s helpers act as a hub in the K-Kreis for planning and organizing joint prevention events, demonstrations, lectures, network meetings and projects such as “I can save lives”. In the event of an emergency, the “K-Kreis” guarantees the Viennese population rapid, highly professional and well-organized help at any time.
