Vienna (OTS) – A new part of the building has been built on the site of the Herz-Jesu Hospital, which offers a state-of-the-art infrastructure with direct emergency access to the ground-level outpatient clinic, underground car park, new wards and operating theater. The inner courtyard extension was recently opened. They are particularly proud of the new operating area with six operating rooms and a recovery room on the second floor. Medical Director Prim. Dr. Manfred Greher, MBA, spokesman for the Vienna Order Hospitals: “With our operating theater concept, we can make processes simpler and meet the high demand for operations even better.” In addition to the most modern medicine and well-thought-out processes, special attention was also paid to the ambience – “like in a good hotel”. Two roof terraces designed as a park were also built on the roofs of the new building, which can be actively used by patients, visitors and staff. In addition to lounge areas, there are also therapeutic facilities on the green recreational islands. The entire expansion was carried out during ongoing operations and was completed on schedule despite the corona pandemic in recent years. “Without the City of Vienna, this construction project, like all other modernizations in the Viennese religious hospitals, would not have been possible. Our inner courtyard extension is therefore a further component of a living supply partnership for the Viennese population,” says Greher.
The seven Vienna religious hospitals
The seven non-profit Vienna religious hospitals include the Barmfühle Brüder Hospital (1020 Vienna), the Franziskus Spital (1030 and 1050 Vienna) and the hospitals of the Vinzenz Group in Vienna [Herz-Jesu Krankenhaus (1030 Wien), Barmherzige Schwestern Krankenhaus Wien (1060 Wien), Orthopädisches Spital Speising (1130 Wien), St. Josef Krankenhaus (1130 Wien), Göttlicher Heiland Krankenhaus (1170 Wien)]. Together they have been a reliable, flexible and predictable partner for the City of Vienna for many years. What is characteristic of the houses is the combination of private sponsorship (religious orders or foundations) with a non-profit provision mandate. Financing by the City of Vienna that corresponds to real needs is the essential prerequisite for ensuring that the seven Vienna religious hospitals can continue to make contributions to Vienna’s healthcare in the future.
