Ferenci: “Keeping the lid on won’t dissolve bed closures, staff flight and station closures into thin air”

Vienna (OTS) The Vienna Medical Association reacted with outrage to the Vienna Health Association (WiGev) banning a day of action by the Vienna Medical Association and the representation of trainee doctors in the Ottakring Clinic. “The WiGev is apparently subject to the misconception that keeping the lid on will dissolve the bed closures, staff flight and ward closures in the Vienna Health Association into thin air. But what happens if you leave pressurized vessels without a valve should actually be known to everyone from physics class“, comments Stefan Ferenci, chairman of the curia employed doctors and vice president of the medical association for Vienna, the prohibition of the event.

The Vienna Medical Association stands for addressing and naming the current problems together with the employees on site in order to work together in a result-oriented and constructive manner on solutions in the interests of the employees and, above all, the patients. “We will not let the WiGev ban prevent us from informing our colleagues on site. There is a fundamental democratic right to assembly. Freedom of assembly is guaranteed by the constitution and the European Convention on Human Rights. Fortunately, the WiGev cannot ignore this either“, so Ferenci. (rp)
