Defending champions EC Red Bull Salzburg suffered their second tough defeat in a row in the ICE Hockey League on Wednesday. Three days after a 1:8 debacle at the KAC, Salzburg had to admit defeat to the Vienna Capitals 0:4 (0:1,0:0,0:3) and thus missed a return to the top of the table. For Salzburg it was their third away defeat in a row, the Viennese ended their series of three ICE defeats in a row.
The match winners in the replay at the beginning of October, when the ice cooling went on strike in Vienna-Kagran, were Trevor Cheek and Hampus Eriksson, who each scored a brace.
